CAMBRIDGE, UK — Part of a GBP 100 million development scheme for the Winnersh Triangle near Reading (UK), Microchip Technology's new headquarters have been purpose-built to house its European sales and support teams.

The new headquarters are customer focused with enhanced meeting room facilities, and houses Microchip's dedicated regional training centre. The centre, capable of hosting up to 50 customers, will provide a venue for customer seminars and workshops.

It has provision for secure wireless internet, dedicated breakout areas with catering facilities, and a customer lab for design consultations with Microchip engineers.

Steve Sanghi, Microchip's CEO, commented; “Building the new European headquarters to our own specifications has given Microchip the opportunity to create one of the industry’s most advanced training centres.

This will also enhance our opportunity to engage in a two-way dialogue with our customers which will help to shape the development of future Microchip products.”

The new building integrates innovative features designed to reduce carbon emissions to levels which are around 50% lower than conventional buildings.

These features include a heat-recovery system to recycle warm air and peripheral infra-red lighting.
