Position Summary:
Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc., a leading biopharmaceuticals company, is searching for an experienced synthetic organic chemist to join the Oncology Medicinal Chemistry team. The chosen candidate will work on multi-disciplinary project teams to discover small molecule anti-cancer therapies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be responsible for the design, synthesis and characterization of organic molecules as part of an integrated oncology drug discovery project team. Experienced applicants will be expected to contribute strongly to strategic decision-making at the project team level.
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates must have a BS or MS degree in Chemistry and 10+ years of relevant experience, focused on synthetic organic chemistry within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry or PhD in Chemistry with 0-3 years of relevant experience. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, as well as familiarity with standard analytical and purification techniques, is required. Successful candidates need to function effectively within multidisciplinary teams and possess strong communication skills.
