JOB SUMMARY:
At Sapient, a Manager, Business Consulting leads the development of innovative strategies to improve business performance. This individual will work on a broad range of projects to develop business, operating, and IT strategies. The focus of their work includes three key areas:
Business Problem Solving – Take ambiguous and complex business problems and using research and business assessment capabilities, define the problem, drive innovative ideas, define the opportunity set, and recommend actionable next steps. Informed Business Decision Making - Bring rigor a client’s decision making process by performing detailed cost/benefit analysis, presenting and evaluating solution options, and driving consensus among key stakeholders. In some instances, we help our clients develop new decision frameworks and governance processes that continue to deliver value far beyond a particular engagement. Solution Planning - Define, scope and plan new solutions for clients. This includes determining how to measure business results, modeling current/future business processes, gathering business requirements and identifying the organizational changes required to successfully realize the benefits of the solution.
With a unique skills set and experience, the Manager, Business Consulting will also be expected to help drive both sales pursuits and strategies, and to support structuring of complex, long-term contracts with clients and partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following and others as assigned: o The Business Consultant will architect, configure and setup the Endur solution such that it meets the business requirements and can successfully process the Crude and Refined Products transactions from deal capture through settlements. o Gather and translate business requirements into a solution design, modeling transactions through the system to ensure that the business requirements are met. o Will liaise with the OpenLink/Endur business teams, as well as with technical development team who will be responsible for coding the required AVS scripting. o Will be responsible for the management of the configuration of the OpenLink Endur solution from design through testing and deployment. o Will ensure that the integration of the configuration with Core and Custom builds is architecturally sound. o Responsible for problem identification, structuring workstreams and engagement planning. o Managing key tricks of work (including other individuals) in accordance with established budget, workplans and quality standards o Creating overall application design and solution architecture o Lead customer, vendor, market analyst, and client interviews o Lead secondary research, data collection and market/competitor analyses o Lead financial analysis and business case development o Review, document and assess client operations o Develop and present solutions and recommendations o Lead the gathering and prioritization of business requirements based upon business and user needs and technology capabilities o Create strong working relationships with clients in business and IT roles o Support business development activities including client proposals o Work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams o Support practice development activities including recruiting & community building
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Ideal candidate will have an MBA or MS degree in Energy related field.
Experience Guidelines: o 5+ years of business analysis and configuration experience with OpenLink Endur. o Must understand business concepts and capabilities of the Openlink/Endur to suggest multiple approaches to the configuration and enhancements of the product. o Able to create business processes, functional designs and requirements for an Openlink/Endur implementation or upgrade. o Experience in both physical and financial trading environment trading preferred. o Solid understanding of the energy/commodity industry end-to-end, crude oil and refined products a plus. o Professional services or Consulting experience highly desired. o Must have experience in successfully delivering business system change which involved gaining the buy-in of business users. o Ability to effectively interact with senior clients. o New business opportunity identification. o Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to create & deliver clear, powerful & concise presentations/proposals. o Must also have the technical aptitude to communicate with the development team and understand the application architecture. o Ability to plan and manage time and resources, establish priorities and meet goals. o Strong understanding of financial models; ability to create financial models. o Creativity with an eye to developing new and innovative solutions. o Strong problem identification and analytical skills; ability to frame problems appropriately. o Experience leading teams and motivating others to take action. o Highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
