Job Descriptions:

Kratos currently has a job opening for a Instructional Systems Designer/Training Specialist supporting our Training Solutions business unit in San Diego, CA.
Designs and develops instructor-led and technology-delivered courses using content development tools under the supervision of the Project Manager or Lead Instructional Designer. Works with subject matter experts to refine course content based on analysis results. Working knowledge of the instructional design processes and models (ISD/ADDIE/SAT). Possesses excellent writing skills and demonstrates the ability to work effectively with subject matter experts to conduct research and resolve issues. Implements and follows a systematic design process for effective and efficient learning.
* Designs and develops for computer-based, web-based, and distributed learning presentations.
* Uses appropriate industry and government standards and specifications.
* Researches and produces clear documentation and other instructional materials to support courseware development;
* Implements adult learning theory into courseware and distance learning environments;
* Attends project meetings, and supports proposal efforts as required
Required Experience:

Experience and Skills:
* Experience in a military or corporate training environment designing e-learning or instructor-led courses.
* Experience designing technology-delivered courseware focused on teaching highly technical content.
* Experience researching technical material and working flexibly with subject matter experts.
* Excellent writing, communication, analytical and instructional design skills.
* Experience working in a focused, dynamic, fast-paced team environment with accountable deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to present complex information clearly; strong attention to detail
* Demonstrates a high level of professionalism when engaging with coworkers, customers and external partners in the conduct of duties
PREFERRED OR SPECIALIZED JOB SKILLS:
* Experience with web or e-learning production, Learning Management systems (LMS), SCORM, Section 508, and common web development applications.
* Experience using the following military Standards and Instruction guidance, as part of the PADDIE process, such as NAVEDTRA 130, 131,136, MIL-HDBK-29612, TRADOC 350-70
* Experience with Navy AIM application and AIM CPM to support courseware planning and design
* Active Duty Navy Experience, C4I a plus
SKILL LEVEL:
Level I: Follows standardized instructional design templates to produce lesson storyboard content, course flow diagrams, and instructor and student materials. Researches highly technical material and provides graphic and interaction descriptions for production.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Level I: BA or BS, with minimum of 2 years of experience, or H.S. diploma and 4+ years experience in military IMI courseware design/development
WORK CONDITIONS:
Smoke free environment, standard office setting.
Sitting for long periods of time working on a computer.
