The Account Security & Privacy Officer position will have ultimate responsibility for the healthcare regulatory and contractual requirements for the assigned account. Responsibilities will include attending meetings with all levels of customer management, recommending and influencing customer direction, handling security & privacy escalations and reporting requirements, facilitating audits and compliance reviews and overseeing all required regulatory and audit remediation activities.
The client that will be supported by this position is a highly regulated company with comprehensive security and privacy needs. The security requirement is important in order to provide recognized and respected security expertise as we finalize and implement the solution we have developed and then handle the ongoing security & privacy requirements that are essential in this environment. The audit management requirement supports the numerous audits related to the client''s internal audit, external audit, governmental regulators and industry regulatory auditors. There are significant risks associated with not providing effective support to these audit entities, both for our client and HP. Facilitate initial privacy and security training for all new staff. Ensure that all staff take the required corporate security training. Develop and facilitate HIPAA training, as needed, to explain new rules and significant changes to current policy and procedures.
Due to the intense regulatory environment in which our client does business, this role is required to act as a trusted advisor to the HP client and our client team in the area of Information Security, Privacy and Audit Compliance. This position is required to provide an essential single point of contact and program management for client audit management, controlled self-assessment and to provide security, audit and regulatory-related subject matter expertise.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience. May have Master's degree in related field. Often holds intermediate-level certification(s) in work field. Typically 8 years of relevant experience
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations required
· Security and privacy certification desired (CHP, CISSP, CISA or equivalent)
· Previous Medicaid or similar health care system experience desired
· In-depth understanding of IT security best practices and technology
· Audit process management expertise
· Experience in contingency planning and disaster recovery testing desired
· Ability to influence and/or lead security-related business development activities
· Risk Management experience; demonstrated ability to link risk management practices to business needs
· Solid understanding of IT server/workstation infrastructure including Wintel, UNIX, etc. and network and respective security standards/protocols
· Familiarity of security software tools and technology
· Strong Understanding of ITIL Service Delivery Framework
· Ability to handle multiple high-pressure situations simultaneously
· Ability to quickly assess complex situations and take appropriate action
· Ability to interpret and explain the legal implications of security issues and contract requirements related to security
· Desire to thrive in a high stress and confrontational environment
· Strong written and verbal communication skills required
· Industry standard security/audit certifications desired: CHP, CISSP, CISA or equivalent
