Software Application Engineer (Job Number:321296) Description: SAIC has an immediate opening for a Senior Software Applications Engineer to support the NAMIS contract, located at Ellington Field, TX. JOB DESCRIPTION: The candidate will be responsible for coordinating all activities of software development/maintenance projects, specifically upgrading the NAMIS Logistics system from Classic asp and VB6 to a C#.NET web application using the MVC software architecture, and is directly responsible for their completions, including assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely project completion. Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION: BS degree in a computer related field, and 10+ years in related experience in computer programming and project management. REQUIRED SKILLS: Extensive experience in managing software development projects through all phases of life cycle (10+ years), including assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, 7+ years of programming experience in SQL Server 2005, or higher. Minimum of 4 years of recent experience programming, or leading software development projects, in sophisticated applications in C# and . Programming knowledge in VB6, VBScript, and JavaScript is also a must. DESIRED SKILLS: Knowledge in CMMI Level 3 processes, proficient in MS Office tools, specifically MS Project, and familiarity with the use of the Source Code Control system Microsoft Team Foundation Services.
