Position Responsibilities Role: Provide our customers with on-site client services primarily focused on the configuration and implementation of Sungard software products. Responsibilities include business process analysis and modeling, systems configuration, software enhancement design and documentation, software training, troubleshooting, solution documentation and issue management. In addition, provide customers with intelligent, professional service and facilitate project communication to all stakeholders. Responsibilities: - Develop expertise covering the breadth of the energy industry including the Power, Gas, Oil, and Coal energy sectors - Research customer business processes to establish project objectives and product solutions - Communicate effectively with Sungard Support, QA and Development departments - Actively support project managers by focusing on project goals and keeping the team informed of progress, hurdles, risks, and successes - Become an expert in project execution by mastering implementation methodologies and the ability to work with all kinds of energy companies and customers - Manage issues and enhancements by developing test cases, tracking resolution, and analyzing and troubleshooting (diagnostics) - Continuously review process and product documentation and improve software expertise - Identify and communicate Services and Product sales opportunities (Incremental Services) - Participate in the ongoing development of Services initiatives seeking to make the group better, smarter, and faster than the competition - Achieve and apply a solid understanding of the following: o Energy commodity markets o Risk management metrics including VaR and Mark to Market o Capturing energy trading activities o Developing complex reports to fulfill business group requirements o Managing the flow of portfolio data from deal creation to settlement Position Requirements Position Requirements: Requirements: - An enthusiastic self-starter with proven problem solving skills - Work analytically in a problem-solving environment - Excellent oral and written communication skills - BS in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or related field - Knowledge of Windows 2000/XP including Microsoft Excel - Travel up to 80-100% - Ability to work independently and as a team member - Must display professionalism and confidence - Excellent customer service skills - Solid organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills Opportunities: - Work for a global technology company with offices in Houston, London and India - Work in a highly diverse environment with associates from various international backgrounds and fields - Start your career in a company small enough to access the C-level executives everyday, yet large enough to offer stability and security - Ability to cross-train and transfer within and among other SunGard business units - Operate in an environment that values your creativity, your initiative and your willingness to speak your mind Survival in today's rapidly changing financial and energy sectors depend on your ability to quickly access the information needed to anticipate, evaluate, and adapt.
