Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Windows Software Packager/Deployment Specialist for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial clients in Chicago, IL. Please note that due to the sensitive nature of data being worked on, we can only consider candidates with US Citizenship or Permanent Lawful Resident Status who have maintained United States residency for a minimum of 7 consecutive years; this position will require an extensive/deep background check Responsibilities: Deploy .NET/Java application components developed by our internal development team and vendors across all of our Windows and Citrix server environments, including the QA, Training, Performance Testing and Production environments. Troubleshoot application and environment issues in order to support the many concurrent testing activities Define reusable and fail-proof implementation procedures. A flexible work schedule is a must. Must be able to work a modified shift (approx. 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM). Weekend and evening work will also be needed periodically. Create automated package installers and deployment scripts Develop environment comparison utilities, application/environment monitoring utilities and post-deployment verification utilities having this skillset is not a requirement for the position. Deploying, supporting and troubleshooting .NET applications running on Windows Server 2003/2008, Citrix and PCs Deploying, supporting and troubleshooting web applications running on Microsoft IIS Deploying various database objects, such as tables and stored procedures, via database scripts on SQL Server 2005 and 2008. SQL query writing experience also needed. Experience with various scripting languages, such as PowerShell and VBScript. Must be able to quickly learn the functionality of complicated applications running in a large number of complex environments.
