Completion of at least two full-time years at a recognized college, university or technical institute
Three or more years of full-time work experience as a System Administrator of a Local Area Network providing end user desktop support and server maintenance
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing; ability to work cooperatively with others
The System Administrator, under general supervision, is responsible for maintaining operational support of a local area network in an office environment.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Takeover Phase:
Deploys desktops, laptops, printers and telephones
Assists with training staff
Assists in updating Procedure Manuals
Assists in Operational Readiness Testing, as required
All Other Phases:
Manages the inventory of equipment ensuring that business continuity is maintained
Provides end-user support of general office tools, which includes troubleshooting and problem solving for access to various external systems such as the mainframe, applications, internet and mail systems
Escalates problems and issues in conformity with the escalation process for technical and administrative resolution
Provides first level of desktop and LAN support and provides basic training on network and use of office tools at a local site
Provides second level support for other sites needing help
Creates and maintains site documentation
Participates in enterprise projects as required
Performs related work as required
Keeps current with continuously evolving health care practices, equipment and technology
