Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the design and maintenance of relational databases that are limited in scope. The incumbent may assist higher level staff in the design and development of more complex databases.
Essential Functions:
45% Performs maintenance and backup functions for database. Resolves issues of moderate scope by reviewing and analyzing identifiable factors. Refers more complex issues to senior level staff.
20% Collaborates with end users by conducting needs analysis. Develops and implements database design and modeling. Conducts testing of systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy. May manage the security access and control to specific databases, ensuring only authorized staff has access and updating capabilities.
20% Collaborates with end users in designing and generating reports and serving as a technical expert. Ensures data reported is user friendly and understandable.
10% Develops and updates documents pertaining to system or software procedures, requirements and changes
5% Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Two year degree in Computer Programming or related field and/or equivalent training and/or experience; 0-3 years experience with relational databases; proficient knowledge of database software; demonstrated ability in resolving problems of limited scope.
Positions working on specific contracts may require U.S. Citizenship.
