DESCRIPTION * Adhere to General Work Requirements * Perform maintenance on customer aircraft in accordance with applicable technical data and FAA/JAA regulations * Perform inspection, make adjustment and repair, replace components, and correct any malfunction or deficiency with and without power applied to the aircraft * Access and re-install aircraft components, which obstruct the performance of assigned tasks * Perform basic mechanical and electrical removals and installations * Document work performed per Inspection Procedures Manual (IPM) * Assist with fueling/defueling aircraft as required * Perform other tasks, for example, cleaning aircraft using approved materials, methods, and equipment, and loads and secures ballast and/or freight as required * Assist Aircraft Engine Technicians and Electronic/Avionics Technicians in troubleshooting and repairing aircraft * Assist with repairs on components detached from the aircraft, for example, flaps, ailerons, elevators, rudders, doors, and leading edges * Work on aircraft as well as in shops * Assist with complex repairs at on-site and off-site locations * Support aircraft manufacturing of prototype and flight test aircraft at off-site locations * Support production aircraft under Production Certificate System * May perform Designated Inspector (DI) function as qualified by QA * Assist other employees in the performance of their duties within area(s) of qualification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES * Ability to use and interpret a variety of basic and precision measurement instruments * Basic knowledge of aircraft systems * Mechanical ability to use basic hand tools, for example, rivet gun, drill press, surface grinder, belt sander, sheetmetal roller, foot shear, hand brake, 90 and 45 degree drills * Basic knowledge of Production Certificate system * Ability to recognize potential electrical hazards in order to prevent injury to self or others
UNPLANNED MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - In addition to the above:
Travel to customers' aircraft to perform troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, avionics, electrical, and/or electronic systems, wherever it is located. Travel may include International assignments. Additional work on drop-ins and planned maintenance within the facility during slow periods of unplanned maintenance may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS * A&P license * Typically 2 years general aircraft experience, which must include a minimum of 1 year experience on jet aircraft * Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and repair manuals
UNPLANNED MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - In addition to the above:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Must meet grade 03 level "Minimum Required Qualifications" for area of specialization * (Preference will be given to technicians at the "senior" level of their classification) * Unscheduled overtime including weekends and holidays will occur * Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with assigned employees, other business areas, contractors, and customers * Must have a valid drivers' license * Ability to communicate easily and accurately with customers at all levels * Ability to work independently * Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) * Must be appropriately certificated per Part 65 * Ability to obtain a Bombardier Corporate Credit Card
ADDITIONAL DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * 2 years Bombardier experience * 3 years of Avionics / Electrical experience (for positions other than Tech Avionics / Electronics) * A & P Certificate (for positions other than Tech A / P) * 5 years of Line Maintenance experience * FSR experience * Bi-lingual (Spanish)
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
A premium in the amount of $1.75/hour will be provided to alltravel-readytechnicians. In order to receive the associated UMT hourly premium, the following is required: * Agree to the "conditions of travel for assignments" provided to each travel-ready technician to sign as "code of conduct" * Ability to obtain passport for international assignments * Ability to work on extended assignments for periods lasting up to 90 days * Ability to be "ready to travel" with as little as 2 hours notice
