Advanced Plating Engineer Level 1\2

Support development of advanced plating materials and processes to meet aerospace requirements for corrosion resistance, wear resistance, electrical properties, and barrier protection. New plating processes will be designed to provide increased part life and function, meet increased environmental restrictions, and maintain low cost. Support technology developments for materials and processes in multilayer coatings, nanocrystalline alloys, electro-codeposition, ternary alloys, and ionic liquids.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Collects information and assists with the definition of requirements for materials, parts and processes used in the manufacture of products. Incorporates changes to specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of materials, parts and processes. Performs tests to qualify new materials, parts and processes to meet requirements. Assists with activities to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements. Conducts basic analysis to determine reasons for failures of materials, parts or processes. Assists in implementing corrective and preventive actions. Develops basic computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements. Works under close to general supervision.

Basic Qualifications For Consideration

Typical Education/Experience
Level 1 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Other Job related information
Prefer a BS or MS in chemical engineering or material science.
