Aircraft Maintenance Manager 3
Responsibilities
The leader of our Aircraft Maintenance organization holds an executive management position responsible for administering and managing all aspects of the aircraft, ground support and hangar facility maintenance. This position oversees both the short and long term maintenance of aircraft; manages a total of 17 departmental staff composed of both salaried (exempt) and hourly (non-exempt) employees in California and Virginia; directs the administration of relationship with all airframe and powerplant manufacturers, and other vendor services.
The essential job functions of this position include the strategic management of the maintenance department; providing day-to-day direction to the employees, coordinate with flight operations leadership on the day to day decisions of the department, communicate with Operations and Administration, interface with the FAA on all regulatory compliance issues, all aircraft maintenance activities in coordination with organizational needs, goals and standards; establishing operational procedures and policies to ensure cost-efficient, effective and safe departmental practices; and providing technical expertise on maintenance procedures, certification and aircraft airworthiness to all company operating sectors.
Basic Qualifications: • Must meet the minimum requirement as a Director of Maintenance under FAA FAR Part 135 and Part 145. Reference: FAA FAR Part 119.71e
• Hold a current FAA Inspection Authorization
• 20 years of aviation maintenance experience with a back ground in FAA FAR Part 145 and Part 135 maintenance procedures.
• Experience on corporate class aircraft, including both turbo-jet and turbo-prop aircraft is required.
• Experience managing an Aircraft Maintenance Team preferably in geographically dispersed locations
• Applicable college degree is desired
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulatory, manufacturers and environmental requirements
• Demonstrated knowledge of principles, procedures, and policies related to Aircraft maintenance and maintenance planning best practices
• Experience with computerized maintenance information systems, inventory systems, and purchasing practices along with an extensive knowledge of corporate aircraft transportation operations
