This office supports several Department of Defense organizations including the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and several Aeronautical Systems Center program offices. Ball Aerospace is a prime contractor leading development teams at AFRL and NASIC. Dayton personnel develop advanced hardware and software systems and provide management services to solve customer problems and create new capabilities. This includes designing and developing software tools and threat models, performing extensive data analyses, and executing modeling and simulations using both internally developed and standard models. Systems Engineering Solutions provides technical and professional services to defense, intelligence, homeland security and space science markets.
What You Will Do: Function as the technical specialist on aircraft noise issues. Develop and help implement recommendations on the strategy to expand Ballâ?Ts aircraft noise capability. Provide technical guidance and oversight to conduct, analyze, and report on aircraft noise. Review and analyze the results of aircraft noise simulation models. Develop and recommend top level and implementation issues to improve current aircraft noise simulation models Assist in the conduct of laboratory and in-flight measurement. Investigate noise issues associated with DoD and USAF aircraft Travel to locations in the USA to accomplish these tasks.
What you will need: BS in Engineering or a related technical field is strongly preferred plus 12 or more years related experience. Experience supporting the USAF and AFRL in developing, conducting, analyzing, and reporting on noise. Experience in conducting noise attenuation performance tests. Experience in noise effects models, on humans, animals, and structures. Experience in noise propagation models, including both subsonic and supersonic. Experience in noise attenuation, speech communication, and auditory localization. Experience in developing research protocols, test plans, standard operating procedures for test equipment, abstracts, conference articles, and technical/facility reports Experience in creating test plans for noise measurements. Outstanding interpersonal verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse audience. Must be a self-starter with tremendous initiative, be able to work under pressure, possess good judgment/ingenuity, and exhibit excellent intuitive skills. Experience and knowledge of S&T and R&D process. Driverâ?Ts license and transportation. In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered. Each higher-level degree, i.e. Masterâ?Ts Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
