Position Description:
General Description
The Senior AIX Administrator provides expert level setup, installation and configuration of IBM Power series servers. Provides operating system configuration and support in order to provide sustainable, stable and secure enterprise level servers including backup, recovery, performance tuning, upgrades/patches, maintenance, troubleshooting, permissions and file sharing.
Non-Essential Skills
? Expert level experience with VMware ESX server, Lab Manager, Virtual Infrastructure Client. IBM Blade Center setup, configuration and management.
? Familiarity with Oracle and DB2 installation, configuration and performance tuning.
? Advanced networking skills, Cisco switching and router configuration.
Essential Skills
? Candidate must excel at troubleshooting and solving difficult problems; must have system administration skills with methodical debugging techniques and the ability to troubleshoot issues with good engineering rigor. This position is not a software development position. Position requires the ability to be flexible, and operate in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Good communication skills and trouble shooting skills are also required.
? Ability to interface well with storage administrators, network administrators and developers.
? System administration skills of AIX 5L and 6L in a large scale enterprise environment or large datacenter environment.
? Ability to configure and implement Boot from SAN or Boot from iSCSI
? Expert level experience with AIX server performance monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting
? Significant experience in AIX 5L and 6L
- LPAR/ VIO/Partition mobility expert
- HMC firmware upgrade experience
- PowerHA for AIX (HACMP) experience.
- TSM/Webshpere knowledge.

Education Requirements
? Bachelor?s degree. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
