AMSEC-Logistics Support 3 (Combat Systems)
Title: AMSEC-Logistics Support 3 (Combat Systems) Location: Virginia-Newport News Provides support to the logistics function preparing logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, test equipment and related manuals to be deployed and stocked. Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment. Modifies maintenance records such as repair standards for more complex equipment or components. Develops requisitions for and manages records of equipment, components, repair parts and related manuals; tracks logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of storage facilities; reviews configuration changes to evaluate impact on logistics deployment; documents equipment, component and parts conditions; and identifies logistic support documentation to be included such as drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance requirement cards to support life-cycle of ic Qualifications: High School and 4 years additional education or 4 years relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications: * Candidate must possess an expertise in shipboard Combat Systems/Radio Communications and/or Internal Communication. A typical incumbent possesses at least six years experience in the operation and maintenance of Shipboard electronics, radio communications and internal communications systems. This maintenance, repair and support experience is usually acquired through Navy technician, Electronics Technician or Internal Communications ratings. * Candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of engineering drawings/data reading practices (MIL-STD-1000), being capable to perform logistic technical evaluation of equipment and material presented in these drawings and prepare data sets documenting the equipment/component in a Configuration Status Accounting database. * Candidate must be computer literate with the ability to be comfortable and proficient at a computer terminal manipulating data. Candidate knowledge in MICROSOFT EXCEL and ACCESS is a definite plus. * Candidate preferred to be capable of performing shipboard sight validations and able to perform logistic technical analysis of shipboard (marine) equipment. * Candidate should be able to research ship configuration logistic information in accordance with Ship Configuration and Logistic Support Information System (SCLSIS) specifications and enter data in the Navy's CDMD-OA system. * Candidate should be able to have a working knowledge (quick learning) of the Ship Configuration & Logistics Support Information System (SCLSIS) Tech Spec (TS 9090-700(series) and use of the CDMD-OA System. * Additional experience with parts screening databases (GDAPL, HAYSTACK, FEDLOG) is a plus.
