Analyst - Direct Marketing
Overview:
Support Direct Marketing initiatives by supporting and creating direct marketing campaigns, analyzing customer and market trends and recapping event results using the Customer Intelligence @ Macys (CIM) database. The DM Analyst will report to the Direct Marketing Manager
Key Accountabilities:
The Direct Marketing DM Analyst responsibilities are:
Maintain and manage direct marketing campaigns supporting calendar events using the Unica Campaign tool. Responsible for the extensive coordination between Merchandise Marketing, Vendor, Production and data possessing vendors to ensure accurate and timely production of customer mail files.
Maintain direct marketing schedules so all deadlines are being met.
Use the most strategic method to set up campaigns using either models or advanced RFM selection. Support campaign selection with sound analytic methodology by doing pre and post analysis for all 'owned' mailings.
Coordinate for all 'owned' events every aspect of direct mail including coordination of schedule, execution of list, creating campaign summary, finance uploads, final output of list to mailhouse, etc.
Assist in providing strategic guidance to Merchandise Marketing teams (and outside leased vendors, as needed) in support of direct marketing campaigns.
Analyze adhoc customer purchasing behavior, market trends and customer segments to support direct mail and other activities as needed. Work with other areas of the organization to support analytic initiatives.
Support ad hoc reporting and analytic needs for the ""My Macy's, initiatives and special events across all district and regions. This includes receiving requests, translating requirements into database queries, and documenting actionable interpretations of results.
Assist in the development of new analytical approaches and techniques that can improve list production, reporting and business problem solving operations.
Need to be able to problem solve on building data queries and validating that results are valid
Maintain computer skills and an understanding of all variables necessary for list production and direct marketing reporting on the CIM system and Business Objects.
Manage the MAS (finance) system to ensure accurate entry of campaign specific information to support Finance and HRG reporting
Skills Summary:
Four-year degree in Business, Marketing or other related fields.
Ability to prioritize and provide consistent attention to detail. Must be able to work in a deadline driven environment to achieve business goals.
Experience with relational databases, business intelligence tools and data analytics, a plus
Very strong written and verbal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
Highly motivated and 'can do' attitude. Excellent attention to detail
Strong math skills - statistics helpful.
Ability to work effectively with people to gain internal respect.
Direct Marketing and/or retail experience would be a plus.
PC proficiency to include: Word & Excel required.
Prior Business Objects and Unica Affinium Campaign experience is helpful.
