Overview:
Macy's Inc. is aggressively pursuing the development of Omnichannel customer experiences, through the leverage of inventory, technology and digital content across its channels. Reporting to a Manager, Omnichannel Strategy, the Analyst, Omnichannel Strategy will drive development of strategies, pilots, and repeatable processes that achieve this goal. Relative focus on these topics will change over time. Currently, there is a stronger emphasis on leading and implementing pilots, but there will be an increased focus on strategy and Omnichannel process development over time. Although deep technical expertise isn't necessary, an interest in and passion for innovation in retail through technology is imperative.
Daily responsibilities will vary by project type, but the Analyst can expect a high degree of ownership, and exposure to senior Macy's management. In addition, the Analyst will work closely with multiple areas of the business, such as Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, and Store Operations at Macy's stores, , Bloomingdale's and .
Key Accountabilities:
Strategic analysis: Provide subject matter expertise and input into omnichannel strategy definition (via competitive benchmarking and industry trend analysis)
Performance improvement: Drive process improvement projects, including current state assessment, improvement opportunity identification and solution definition in a team-based environment
Pilot management: Manage omnichannel pilot projects, coordinating multiple stakeholders to drive decision-making and in-store implementation
Change Management: Contribute to presentations and materials for Senior executives to report progress towards omnichannel goals
Team development: Contribute to the emerging vision/standardization of the Omnichannel Strategy team's role and responsibilities
Skills Summary:
BA/BS College Degree or equivalent work experience.
2 years in an analytics-heavy role (e.g. in strategy consulting, business process improvement).
Comfort/familiarity with technology preferred.
Experience with business analytics such as cost/benefit analysis, strategic analysis etc.
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of assigned tasks.
Demonstrated strength in organizational/project management skills.
Excellent communication skills, including meeting and workshop facilitation skills.
Ability to understand, organize and communicate complex information in an easily understandable format tailored to a variety of audiences.
Ability to interact with all types and levels of people, from technology architects to creative designers, from recent college graduates to the CEO.
Independent, high-energy and oriented towards results.
