This position generally requires the following skills:
The Application Infrastructure Architect provides technical and business consultative support within Advanced Services during the pre-sales and post-sales cycle. May provide technical application thought leadership for Cisco Unified data center architecture. Must be able to translate client requirements and communicate benefits of applications running on Unified Architecture in order to gain customer confidence in our ability to design, implement and maintain a complete application deployment. Works closely with Sales, Project Managers and other Cisco and partner resources in order to optimize the best solution for the customer.
Understand the current and future requirements of customer business application needs/requirements and, based on that understanding, formulate and execute an overarching Application system architecture taking into account automation/enablement strategy with specific and detailed tactics to evangelize the product/platform/technologies leading to customer-specific solutions and the value they bring in solving business problems. Quantify ROI.
Own and drive, with the project manager, identified application service opportunities in assigned accounts.
Understand the Cisco data center technology roadmap and alignment to market orientations and future opportunities. Create, manage, and own activity of selling business value to CXO-level and business heads.
Conduct one-to-many presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts . Architecture
Understand the customer's business domains (Finance/Insurance/BFSI/Legal, etc.) enough to help provide innovative business solutions for the opportunity.
Architect application infrastructure solutions, including the application infrastructure design and deployment solution.
Developing detailed application infrastructure designs of the hardware, software, managment, physical design, and deployment design requirements.
Deliver solutions that factor in system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability and overall cost to develop and maintain (TCO) Technical skills
Knowledge of prevalent application platforms/technologies (BPM, ECM, SOA, CCF)
Knowledge of the discipline required to develop object-oriented and packaged applications (.NET, JAVA, J2EE) Must have experience in architecting and sizing applications for optimal infrastructure including server, server virtualization, network and storage. Must have strong architecture background and working knowledge of industry trends amongst primary applications such as Oracle, SAP, MSFT. Ideal candidates will have experience as a system administrator for a business application (ie. SAP Netweaver/Basis Administrator) Must have experience working on projects involvig COTS and custom application migration projects involving replatform Experience analyzing, developing, deploying, and supporting computing applications in a large- scale enterprise Must have a good understanding and working knowledge of two or motr of the following: Portal Technologies/Applications:. ERP/CRM: Oracle eBusiness Suite (PeopleSoft/Siebel)/SAP,Business Suite / Websphere / MSFT Email: MS Exchange, Lotus Notes Collaboration: MS SharePoint, Webex Connect
BI : Oracle/MS SQL 2005/BO/Hypertension/Terradata Database: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL etc. Knowledge of one or more of the following technology sets is a plus: Systems Orchestration: BMC BladeLogic, IBM Tivoli, HP Opsware, CA Unicenter Server Virtualization: VMware, Xen, Hyper-v OS: Solaris sparc, Windows, Linux, HPUX, AIX Hardware: HP c-class, Dell PowerEdge, IBM, Ocacle/Sun HP Matrix IBM Cloudburst Expertise using Design and Project Management tools and (like MS-Project)
Other Skills .
