Job Description

The Application Systems Technical Analyst focuses on Problem and Change management and also handles Incidents, Requests, performs technical support, technical installations, maintenance, technical analysis, testing, and documentation for the maintenance of departmental and enterprise clinical applications. This position will provide support for clinical applications that includes HELP1, HELP2, Initiate, ECIS, and other clinical systems running on different platforms.  This support position will work rotating on call shifts during business hours and off business hours during the week, weekends, and holidays 365x24x7.

• Ability to troubleshoot and develop coordinated steps for problem solving
• Ability to troubleshoot common to complex issues and articulate those issues to others
• Ability to document issues, solutions and maintain the documentation
• Ability to take appropriate initiative for involvement in assigned projects from design through implementation and look for ways to continuously improve the support process
• Ability to identify, present and follow up on clinical application issues with the appropriate teams - clinical and other support teams, implementation, development, QA, etc.
• Ability to learn new applications and platforms quickly
• Ability to work with team members, other teams, and end users in a mutually respectful manner
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

This position will work with confidential and proprietary information that requires a signed IT Employee Invention and Confidentiality Agreement upon hire.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an information technology, clinical, or healthcare (clinical or business) field OR four or more years of information systems, clinical, or clinical information system experience.  Intermountain Healthcare verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of previous experience providing analysis, design, configuration, implementation (technical and functional) and support of business or clinical information systems or three or more years of previous experience as an expert user of the business or clinical information systems
• Knowledge of Tandem/Non-Stop and AIX/Solaris systems
• Knowledge of Java, .NET and Oracle
• Knowledge of Intermountain Healthcare's clinical applications (HELP1, HELP2, ECIS)
• Intermediate proficiency with medical terminology
• Technical support experience or clinical experience with clinical information systems
• Experience debugging and programming code
