DESCRIPTION:
The Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for all aspects of engineering and architecture required to manage and maintain our Network, Virtualization, Desktop and Directory Services Platforms. Virtualization to include VMWare ESXi and vCenter infrastructures in primary, regional and DR locations, improve VM backup solution and fine-tune the overall running of the environment to include the use of Microsoft SCOM for trending and issue identification.
General Directory services (Sun One and AD). Desktop engineering to include XenApp and XenDesktop design and build - supporting up to 1,000 users. This person will be responsible for managing and reporting the status of the environments including performance, capacity, availability, failure rates, and other performance metrics. Working closely with the other engineering and operation teams, the architect will help define the future strategy, driving efficiency and optimization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Responsible for identifying, evaluating and making purchase recommendations on infrastructure technologies specifically in the Windows, Virtualization and Application Directory services disciplines.
? Responsible for architecting, engineering and documenting appropriate solutions around new technologies, as well as providing knowledge transfer to Operations team.
? Provide technical leadership in the on-going engineering of our VMWare environment. Including, but not limited to platform architecture, engineering, operational documentation, scripting, monitoring and performance tuning.
? Responsible for the on-going engineering of our application directory platforms, specifically our planned Sun One ->LDS migration. This will include platform architecture, engineering, operational documentation, monitoring and performance tuning.
? Take ownership of our SCOM / Veeam based monitoring platform, review existing design, make recommendations for improvement, work with network, DBA and operations teams to deploy changes, document. Transition us away from legacy Solaris platform and engineer around RHEL and Oracle Linux platforms.
? Provide engineering support and level 3 support for OS related storage engineering to include iSCSI, CIFS, DFS /DFS-R, NFS Backups, etc for Windows, Linux and VMWare.
? Work collaboratively within the team and across teams as well as independently.
? Multi-task across complex projects, with tight deadlines and deliver projects on time and within budget . Project management and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
REQUIREMENTS:
? 5+ years Citrix experience
? 5+ years VMWare experience
? 5+ years of Windows Server administration
? 5+ Microsoft Active Directory experience in a large enterprise and LDAp protocol
? 3+ years Microsoft SCOM experience
? Experience in Microsoft FIM/MIIS is desired
? Experience with Networking and Storage for virtual environment
? Experience in a CISCO switching environment is a plus
? Experience in Sun One Directory Server is desired
? Experience in working with NetApp storage is a plus
? Experience in working with Microsoft LDS is a plus
SKILLS:
? Must possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills
? Must be a "self-starter" as well as work in a team project environment
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare and maintain technical documentation and conduct
? knowledge transfer exercises
? Must be able to organize and schedule efficiently complex multi-discipline tasks

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
? Experience in Perl scripting is a plus
? Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, Outlook, Word, Visio and SharePoint
? Experience with automated configuration management/deployment tools is preferred
? Familiarity with HP Intel-based (BL & DL series) hardware is a plus
EDUCATION:
A Bachelors of Engineering Degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Sciences is required
