Assoc Technician-NOC

Minimum Associate's degree, two-year technical degree, relevant military experience, equivalent special electronics training, or equivalent work experience is required.

Minimum 0-1 years experience in cellular plus electronics training. Telecommunications alarming in a NOC environment is a plus.

Basic training and/or coursework in at least 2 of the following areas: data communications, digital communications, operating systems and applications, telecommunications, computer support, project management, and/or power.

Knowledge of Windows, Word, Outlook, and Notepad is required.
Demonstrated telephone, communications, and interpersonal skills are required.
Ability to follow established guidelines, policies, and procedures is Associate Technician - NOC is responsible for monitoring Verizon Wireless' switching network of all alarms from a centralized Network Operations Center (NOC) ensuring high availability and attainment of service levels. They will learn and apply new technical skills to support the interdepartmental objectives including: effectively communicating and escalating alarms ensuring quick resolution; utilizing a network management system via computer terminals to detect environmental alarms; completing trouble tickets to document alarms; and answering incoming telephone calls to the NOC.

Detects and analyzes environmental alarms and escalate alarms.

Answers incoming telephone calls to NOC and refers appropriately.

Utilizes telephone and trouble ticket database to notify Technicians of alarms and equipment outages.

Assists other NOC personnel as needed.
