More information about this job: Overview: Summary: The Associate Network Administrator is responsible for installation, configuration, and maintenance of local area network hardware, servers and workstations for the data center and office environment. This position is responsible for ensuring the availability and security of the network and its resources to end-users. This position carries out technical, non routine installation and maintenance of network hardware and software, such as servers, operating systems, storage devices, switches, and end-user equipment. This position is also responsible for providing user-level network services, such as assigning passwords and accounts, administering e-mail, setting permissions, and desktop applications support.
Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned. Networking * Understands the issues involved with administering and maintaining corporate infrastructure, including network connectivity, Internet access, email, etc. * Implement Network solutions that improve end-user experiences * Support Network internal and external resources * Maintain and Provide Monthly Network LAN/WAN Reports and Statistics * Understands the issues involved in administering and maintaining corporate LAN/WAN infrastructure. * Manages and maintains facility Network cabling and interfaces with cabling vendors as needed. * Maintains Call Manager and Unity Accounts * Assist in the Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance of Network hardware * Diagnose and Resolve Network problems as needed. * Updates company phone lists and email address directories. Telephony * Assists with the administration and maintenance of the telephone system, including telephone switches. * Assists with the creation of new hire telephone and voicemail extensions, routing extensions to appropriate locations and updating information as Innovator seating assignments change. * Communicate any changes to peers and department manager 1 week prior * Log all changes in the IT Helpdesk Ticketing System “RT” * Timely installation and configuration of system software and hardware * Respond to and Resolve Remote Connectivity issues as they occur * Document new procedures and configurations * Assist with end user training on related technology (Remote Access, VPN, etc) * Maintain Server/Switch/Router Inventory List * Provide After hours and Normal business hours support and guidance to peers and users as needed * Be willing to work on occasional weekend and after hour projects as needed or required * Provide on call after hours and weekend support New Hire Administration * Creates network and email accounts for new users. * Ensures delivery of equipment to users in different locations if necessary. * Internal Systems * Assists in supporting corporate applications; internal corporate servers, Network Infrastructure, etc. Assists with basic troubleshooting, backup, and archiving of Data. * Helps install and improve computer software, hardware and network equipment. * Accurately completes and submits status reports in a timely manner. * Complies with all company policies and procedures. * Participates in the implementation and support of IT-related policies. * Keeps workroom neat, organized and secure. Asset Management * Assists with the inventory management of software licenses, Applications, hardware, and other IT supplies. * Assists with the purchase of software, hardware and other IT supplies. * Promotes responsible usage and care of corporate equipment.

Education and Experience: Minimum Experience: 5 years of progressive network experience. Minimum Education: B.S. Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical/problem solving skills. Clearly articulate ideas and thoughts verbally. Accurately prepares written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective and professional. Computer Skills: Must be proficient with office productivity software such as MS Word and Excel. Certificates/Licenses: Related course work and seminars to increase skill base. . Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to evaluate critical systems, prioritizes work, and determines solutions. A general knowledge of these technologies: Cisco routers/switches, Cisco VOIP Phone Systems, Cisco Unity voicemail, Cisco Pix/ASA firewalls Physical Demands: Prolonged, extensive or considerable sitting. Reaching, stooping, bending or standing may be required.
