AT&T Principal-Technical Architect- People Soft
Responsible for translating business needs into technical solutions, and defining solutions to problems through reasoned application of information technology. Designs, develops, documents and analyzes overall architecture of systems, including hardware and software. Determines integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs. Coordinates design and integration of total system including subsystems. Researches and recommends technology to improve the current systems.
Resources will need to have an understanding of several key components of the solutions for the Hosting and Application that will focus on design review and enhancement during the presales cycle prior to contract signing. Special skill and attention to the end to end solution encompassing all components of the solution (networking, load balancers, firewalls, OS, DB, application layers, performance tuning, load testing and overall capacity planning expertise) to ensure that the solution designed is complete and operable at a consistent level. For Application layer expertise, we will look to include some level of packaged enterprise application experience (SAP, Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, etc), ecommerce programs/containers (WebSphere, ATG, etc) and Exchange, middleware layers such as Apache, Tomcat. This role will function in key technical thought leadership roles from design through go live. Skills in Coordinating large technical teams, driving problem management activities and high quality troubleshooting are also skills and experience that will be necessary for this role. High skill levels in 4-7 of the solution layers will be necessary for success in this role. This role will drive work across several teams inside AT&T and will be responsible for forward thinking solutions for client issues.

The preferred location for this position is Atlanta, GA. Other locations that will be considered are Alpharetta, GA; Middletown, NJ, Durham, NC, Saint Louis, MO and Dallas, TX. May consider other qualified applicants in other locations who will remain in those locations.
Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have the following skills and experience: - Experience with PeopleSoft enterprise applications
- Experience in pre-sales and implementation and day 2 support
- Experienced in coordinating large technical teams, driving problem management activities and high quality troubleshooting are necessary for this role.
- Experience managing projects end to end solutions involving all components, including networking, load balancers, firewalls, OS, DB, application layers, performance tuning, load testing and overall capacity planning expertise
Required Qualifications -
- 2-4 years of PeopleSoft experience.
- 8-10 years related technical architect experience
- Ability to work with technical and business-oriented teams
- Proficient in network and system architecture (subsystems, interfaces, hw/sw dependencies).
- Knowledge in Network Management, Tools and Protocols (Configuration, IP network Address Management, Perf, Mgmt).
- Understands Virtualization, Storage and Content Delivery Networks (Cloud, CDM, Grid, SAN).
- Proficient in specifying and evaluating architecture requirements for RFXs.
Desired Qualifications -
- AS/BS degree in Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field
- Enterprise wide deployment planning and support for mission critical applications for major releases, both business and infrastructure related
- Develops technical documentation on applications and systems
