Description
The AT&T Mobility Consumer eCommerce Team is responsible for AT&T's online presence for selling products and services. This industry leading telecom site has previously ranked in the top five retail web sites visited on both Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We support millions of UVs every month and enable a crucial channel for AT&T.
We are seeking a Senior Developer for the Online Search development team. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving our site search application as we continue to innovate and offer more care content for our customers. Primary responsibilities include:
Responsibilities:
Integration and improvement of content management process, web application space and Search Engine Optimization strategy execution
Demonstrated solutions that leverage both open source software (i.e. Solr, Lucene) and custom software to a competitive advantage without building the entire software stack
Understands search performance optimization techniques of memory vs. resources and index vs. query-time..
Experience integrating search mechanism for product catalog, and natural language search.
Lead on discrete development projects and should take complete ownership of technical solution.
Excellent communication skills that can be used to effectively communicate technical concepts to business teams.
Suggest innovative solutions to business problems/processes that leverage technology to provide marketing differentiation, performance improvements, and better user experiences.
Develop algorithm improvements that dramatically improve search relevance and ranking.
Provide direction and mentoring to junior developers.
Required Skills:
3 + years of strong experience in JSP, Java, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, CSS, DHTML, XML, XSLT and basic UI - Technologies
Knowledge of web technologies such as Lucene and Google Search Appliance
Strong understanding of SDLC processes and methodologies
Strong analytical, problem solving, technical troubleshooting, and production diagnostic skills.
Additional skills:
eCommerce application development experience
Knowledge of the ATG Dynamo platform
Industry experience in Telecom/Wireless
Familiar with building systems to handle large volumes of traffic and visitor data
Education:
BS degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Engineering preferred
