Business Analyst Description Summary
A member of the Information Technology Business Systems team responsible for understanding and evaluating the overall processes of one or more business areas. Assists the business community in determining requirements, defining scope and objectives, and formulating processes to meet overall business strategies. Serves as a liaison between the assigned business area and Information Technology. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, best practices, and procedures within the assigned field(s).
Duties/Responsibilities
-Serves as a subject matter expert in the Company's business processes of assigned business area(s). - Serves as a subject matter expert in the Company's use of its applications to meet the business needs of each assigned area. - Stays abreast of industry best practices within assigned business area(s). - Performs necessary investigation, analysis and evaluation to help assigned business area(s) define/refine business processes to meet their business needs. Translates those processes into system solutions. - Gathers business requirements and communicates them to the appropriate Information Technology disciplines. - Identifies application and system opportunities and assists in finding effective solutions. -Actively participates in project activities involving assigned business area(s).
Characteristics - Must be able to communicate effectively to all levels of the business, IT and solution providers. - Must be organized and a self-starter. Legacy Required Skills:
Experience/Education Requirements - Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions. - 5+ years experience in the upstream oil and gas industry - College degree preferred
