Title: BAS Technology Consultant III - Software Developer Location: Costa Rica-Barreal De Heredia HP Best Shore Application Services is looking for IT professionals that like to be part of the Software Development Team:
The Software Developer is responsible for components development, data interfaces, analysis and design of applications based on N tier architectures. They also provide support and maintenance, program modifications, performance tuning, problem solving, debugging, gathering and writing technical specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for participating in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of applications/components while assigned to project teams within an assigned business unit or corporate department, tasks include:
1. Standalone and Web applications programming 2. Data interfaces and database components programming 3. Analysis and design 4. Technical specifications - gathering and writing (UML) 5. Report development 6. Program modifications 7. Performance tuning 8. Problem solving 9. Debugging 10. Provide support and maintenance
- Familiarity and experience with project methodology and change management methodologies. Well experienced with full software development lifecycle (SDLC). - Assess available technologies - Recommend solution options - Establishing a detailed program specification through discussion and interfacing with clients - Devising possible solutions to predicted problems, evaluating other options - Working as part of a team, this may be established purely for a particular project, to write a specific section of the program - Combining all elements of the program design and testing it - Testing sample data-sets to check that output from the program works as intended - Reacting to problems and correcting the program as necessary - Evaluating the program's effectiveness - Increasing program operating efficiency and adapting to new requirements, as necessary - Consulting manuals, periodicals and technical reports to learn new ways to develop programs and maintain existing skills and knowledge. - Self-starter able to work under broad direction and able to meet project and development milestones. - Thought leadership and innovation is a must
Technical Skills
Required:
- Experience development web applications using HTML, DHTML, JavaScript. - Design patterns, specially MVC (Model View Controller). - Basic skills in ABAP programming. - Knowledge in CSS (Cascade Style Sheet). - Protocols: HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, TCP/IP. - Understand of HTTP Cookies. - Basic concepts of Object Oriented Programming: Class, Method, Inheritance, Abstraction, Encapsulation. - As a plus, experience development Web Services and the basic understand of this technology (knowledge in XML). Desirable:
- SAP Knowledge - LINQ - MVC framework - Ajax - JQuery - UML 2.0 - Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2005, 2008 - Agile software development methods (XP, SCRUM, etc.) - WPF, WCF and Silverlight - Reporting services - Oracle 9i/10g/11g
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor degree in Systems Engineering or advanced Systems Engineering student with a strong development background/experience. - Strong initiative, problem solving, priority setting, good communications and collaboration and strong programming skills. - English (at least 90%)
