Job Description
Under general direction, formulates/defines system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer applications. Designs, codes, debugs and documents code fixes. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. Regularly provides guidance and training to less experienced analyst/programmers.
1. Execute the program coding, debugging, unit and system testing, and documentation in accordance with design documents.
2. Work with technical staff and clients in the implementation of programs.
3. Develop the required program documentation for assigned projects. Rewrite and upgrade outdated program documentation through a periodic review of documentation files and procedures as assigned.
4. Participate in system testing, verification, and validation in accordance with established policies. Perform testing and review final results with other members of the department
5. Provide training and support of client users in new and established applications.
Job Requirements
• Requires knowledge equivalent to that which would normally be acquired by completing a four-year college program in computer science or similar concentration and 5-7 years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience.
• Deliver application modifications requested to support business requirements.
• Monitor and close programming help desk tickets as necessary to correct break / fix situations.
• Strong written, verbal, team, and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Win2003 & 2008, Visual Studio .Net, SQL Server 2005/2008, SharePoint, MS Office, other Inter/Intranet Technologies, Symitar, and the suite of MS development tools
• Experience with or an aptitude for learning Symitar Repgen, and other Microsoft Suite of development tools.
• Ability to respond to customer complaints and management inquiries.
• Ability to effectively present information to management in a concise and direct manner.
• Ability to generate documentation on computer systems and software functions as requested by supervisor.
• Ability to read and apply procedures stated in technical and non-technical documentation.
• Ability to understand and apply mathematical formulas as may be required for effective computer operations.
• Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and apply solutions to problems based on information obtained .
