Need Parsons is seeking a Subject Matter Expert with in-depth knowledge for its Blast Design group who will lead and grow our team of blast engineering professionals. The Blast Design - Subject Matter Expert would serve as the customer's specialty consultant to review blast-protective designs with the overall mission to protect critical Federal assets from a broad spectrum of extreme events and minimize damage. The successful candidate would collaborate with structural and engineering disciplines on developing solutions as well as develop project specific design criteria, calculations, analysis, construction details, and reports. Would be a leader and provide training for junior engineers and may work across practice lines support of other Parsons Global Business Units. The candidate would be based in Washington D.C.
Qualifications: Requirements
10 years experience with Blast Design engineering, facilities hardening, protective design, and structural engineering.
Proficiency in Unified Facilities Criteria, UFC-3-340-1, UFC-3-340-2, and UFC-3-340-3, as well as DOE 11268.
Familiarity with PSAD/SBED, SHOCK, FRANG, and SOLVER
Authorship of technical publications and Professional Society involvement desired.
4-year Degree in Engineering (or related field); Master's Degree required.
Proof of US citizenship or permanent residency is required
Current Secret Clearance required and must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance with Full Scope Poly eligibility.
Must be able to travel as needed
