Business Analyst Consultant
Title: Business Analyst Consultant Location: TX-Round Rock This position, within GAT - Global Reporting Transformation, will function primarily as a Product Manager driving global Management Reporting Solutions. The position requires excellent verbal and written communication. This person should be comfortable engaging business and I/T counterparts across global cultures and be comfortable speaking publicly in front of small groups and larger audiences. Ideal candidates would have a background both in Business/Finance/Accounting and some technical / IT / Database experience, especially in areas of management reporting and data-warehouse reporting. The ability to translate business process needs into clear I/T requirements is a must.
Role responsibilities include - Defining requirements - including Data, reporting, Controls Ensuring that business intelligence projects are secure, scalable and supportable Ensuring Consistency - including corporate Hierarchies and Standard Business Definitions Focusing on End User support and Data Quality solutions/standards across BI projects Responsible for Business testing and coordination with UAT users Coordination with Operational teams to ensure smooth transitions to Production Communication, training, and migration Planning
This person should be familiar with project management techniques, e.g. SDLC or equivalent, have a fundamental knowledge of data warehousing, web reporting technology, accounting principles and practices, and a good understanding of Dell's systems and processes. The candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to respond to basic and in-depth questions, receive and/or share information, promote, influence, advise, explain, train and coordinate with project teams and management inside and outside the department. The role will include determining and encouraging best practice reporting and ensuring "one-number" report consistency across segments and regions.
QUALIFICATIONS -
Knowledge, Skills, Education and Abilities: Detailed knowledge and understanding of Dell's business is highly recommended: Dell Knowledge includes Understanding of Dell's Order Management systems, Omega, and DDW. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent with seven years of experience is preferred. Commensurate experience will be considered. RDBMS experience, SQL, and an understanding of enterprise-wide information systems is desired. Product Management experience required. Required key competencies include Business Acumen, Controllership, Engagement Management, and Communication.
