Description
Analyze, customize, configure, and implement commercial software products. Work individually or within a team on software product consulting projects to meet specific customer requirements. May include support, maintenance, and administration. Work directly with the client and may travel to the client site.
Work under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment. May consult with senior peers on certain projects. Moderate skills with high level of proficiency. Typically requires four to five years of experience. Primary Responsibilities: · Gather required data from end users to evaluate objectives and goals. · Accurately estimate time frames required to complete assigned tasks. · Design and develop interfaces and customized reports within software systems. · Design functional and integration test plans/scripts and perform testing activities. · Train end users and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented software product(s). · May perform consultative selling to leverage professional services. · Collaborate with other systems analysts/technical consultants to ensure that efforts are coordinated. · Initiate test of system program and observe readout on monitor of computer system to detect errors or work stoppage. · Change system software configuration so that system performance will meet objectives. · Assist users having problems with use of system software. · Visit vendors to observe demonstration of systems software. · Review productivity reports and problem records to evaluate performance of computer system. · Prepare estimates of the labor hours and calendar time required to analyze proposed changes to software and to analyze the root cause of operational problems. · Write description of steps taken to modify system and procedures required to implement new software. · Train users, Computer Operator, and Computer Programmer to use system software. · Prepare workflow charts and diagrams to modify system software. · Follow acceptable standards and techniques for the development of design documents and estimates. General Qualifications: · Excellent oral and written English communication and presentation skills. · Strong leadership skills · Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excell, Powerpoint) · Fundamental skill and applied use of Relational databases and SQL · Strong interpersonal skills · Ambitious, self motivated and flexible to schedule changes · Moderate to Extensive travel required. · Professional appearance required. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or at least five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
