City / Ville Edmonton Province Alberta [AB] Title / Titre Business Applications Support Analyst Job ID / Numéro d'identification du poste 11612 Position Overview / Vue d'ensemble du poste Our Sherwood Park client is seeking an IT Professional with experience in supporting business application technology. This individual will function in the role of deploying and supporting commercial business applications in support of project requirements.
Start Date: Now End Date: December 31, 2012 (plus extensions)
Responsibilities
* Support business applications in order to minimize disruptions and provide a smooth operating environment. * Provide technical support for commercial and custom business applications * Install and configure new software * Perform software upgrades, including service packs, and patches * Modify software code and scripts * Provide database support for Microsoft SQL Server environments. This will include DB administration functions, maintaining stored procedures, developing ad-hoc views and queries, and database modeling. * Under the direction of a Project Manager, participate on project teams to implement new business applications. * Work with software vendors and external service providers. * Create and maintain documentation per department standards.
Education & Experience
* Post secondary education in Computer Science, or Management Information Systems, along with four years of relevant experience; experience with business analysis, project leadership, on a help desk, or in a municipal environment will be considered assets. * Knowledge of client/server and web-based applications, technical architecture, database administration, software development, and deployment experience. * Solid technical foundation encompassing logical & analytical problem solving. * Well developed interpersonal and communicative skills and one who represents and expresses ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience * The ability to manage time and multiple priorities with changing deadlines * Strong writing skills to produce professional-quality communication material
