The Associate will focus on a specific project- or a series of projects- which includes assisting in the research, management, and execution of Wireless Generation’s M&A, investments, or strategic partnership activities. The selected candidate will work closely with the respective teams in evaluating market segment share, profiling potential acquisition targets and/or partnership opportunities, conducting industry research, valuation analyses, due diligence, and creating strategic presentations / recommendation documents. The goal is to have the projects be real corporate initiatives and for the output of the internship to be implemented as part of our ongoing activities. You will be required to handle multiple projects across various categories at the same time and develop a deep understanding of at least one major market segment opportunity.
Responsibilities of Business Development Associate:
Identify appropriate opportunities which support WGen’s strategic priorities through interaction with senior business leaders, companies within our market segments, investment bankers, venture capitalists, and organic pipeline generation.
Partner with business units to evaluate expansion opportunities and research their relevant market segments and competitive landscapes
Profile those important market segments and the potential targets/partners within those segments
Evaluate the benefits of potential partnerships/acquisitions and make recommendations as to potential target companies
Interact with potential targets and establish relationships with potential target management teams, as appropriate
Participate in pre-transaction investigation and due diligence efforts where applicable.
Qualifications for Business Development Associate:
The capability to do organic research and self-directed analysis of potential opportunities within the space.
The ability to evaluate a business opportunity, both financially and qualitatively.
Experienced in basic and intermediate PowerPoint and Excel usage.
Experience influencing senior executives and negotiating:
Experience driving projects to completion.
Possesses or working towards BA/BS within finance, business administration or comparable disciplines.
Currently enrolled in an BBA/MBA/JD Program
Sound business judgment
Ability to work on multiple initiatives in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with and influence teams across the organization including Senior Leadership
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability and desire to deal with ambiguity with a strong bias for action
Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to support business decisions.
Strong interest and knowledge of internet businesses and technologies
