A Business Intelligence Consultant in Northridge Systems' Business Intelligence practice is a consultant and technical expert with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Business Intelligence technology, design, and implementation. This position is responsible for providing consulting and developmental expertise on Business Intelligence projects. Responsibilities include developing solution requirements with clients, mapping requirements to architecture, assisting with estimation, developing data warehouses, developing OLAP databases, developing ETL processes, writing reports, dashboards, and scorecards, developing forecasting, budgeting, and data mining solutions, performing some DBA tasks, code and data testing, and documentation. This resource will be responsible for implementing these solutions, and supporting the customer post-implementation through troubleshooting and training. May also be involved in sales meetings with potential customers.
Responsibilities Include:
- Designing and Building BI applications
- Performing requirements gathering
- Building Microsoft BI solutions
- Project and application documentation
- Interfacing directly with the customer
- Consulting in sales meetings
- Traveling when required
Qualifications Include:
- 5 years IT consulting/project experience
- 3 years BI experience (Data Warehousing/OLAP/Reporting/Scorecards/Planning Applications)
- Understanding of business reporting and analytical issues
- Strong understanding of SQL
- Understanding of MDX and/or DMX a plus
- DBA skills a plus
- Understanding of data warehouse & OLAP design
- Excellent presentation, written, verbal, and overall communication skills
