Business Systems Analyst
Job PurposeThe business systems analyst will be responsible for understanding, documenting, reporting, and analyzing the data from ASI’s policy and claim systems. The individual is responsible for providing accurate and timely reports and information to all of the company’s departments as well as senior management.
Essential Functions
· Identifies and implements efficiencies, including automation of repeatable processes and moving reports out to end users
· Designs, develops and analyzes automated business solutions and troubleshoots technical solutions
· Consults with business users, management, systems analysts, programmers and customers
· Coordinates design, development, implementation and testing across various departments
· Uncovers patters, discrepancies & trends in data and provides in-depth business analysis
· Documents functional and business specifications
· Creates user documentation, instructions, and written procedures
· Find ways to automate reporting process to gain efficiencies
· Develop T-SQL and stored procedures to reduce reporting execution time
· Assist in month-end checking and validation
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or related field; required
· Microsoft SQL Server (2005 or 2008); required
· Microsoft Access and Excel (2003 or 2007); required
· Knowledge of VBA highly desired
· Experience in insurance industry preferred
· Demonstrated ability to independently research and solve problems
· Strong analytical and decision making skills
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Strong attention to detail
· Ability to manage priorities of varying complexity
