Responsibilities and prospects for the Business Systems Analyst:

Root cause analysis of OASIS software application issues. Work with cross-functional resources (vendor included) to identify and implement solutions to address production issues
Analyze stored procedures and SQL statements in purchased package code
Analyze system parameters within purchased package
Software configuration
Analyze business requests and work with business resources to implement new or custom configuration in the software package to meet business processing needs
Provide domain expertise on using configuration capability within the software package to meet customer requirements (i.e., act as a consultant to business teams)
Configure user profiles and security settings in software package
Use SQL statements to update system configuration for new product development
Use SQL statement to maintain existing configuration for rating, product coverage, system default setting and like processing
Development and/or Publishing forms or Reports (Crystal or Web Intelligence)
Development of SQL statements to support rapid response report needs or production support
Execute task-specific projects plans under the direction of a project leader or manager
Ensure standard documentation guidelines are met for all work tasks completed
Train staff in the use of configuration and product definition tools and serve as the expert throughout the implementation process

Education and experience for Business Systems Analyst:
BS degree in Business, Information Technology or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in software application development and support (preferably experience with packaged software products)
Oracle SQL and PL/SQL experience - in both analyzing code and writing SQL update logic
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member
Demonstrated analytical skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities and engage mgt in situations when prioritization is a challenge Software change management experience
Understanding of core insurance processes (policy management/issuance, billing, claims, agency management, commissions, regulatory reporting)
Excellent oral and written communication skills (ability to lead small meetings)
Proven leadership skills
