Overview
Our client requires a Business Systems Analyst.
Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Business Information Systems, Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for providing business analysis, technical and application software support to the Field Data Capture, Scada, Field and Production Operations areas. Your ability to analyze business requirements, troubleshoot, work with other IS groups and resolve end user application and data issues will be your core operational activity.
This position is primarily responsible for, but not limited to:
Build a strong relationship with the business partners by developing an in-depth understanding of the partner's business needs, processes, data, and issues, and firm understanding of how changes in one business unit will affect other areas
Lead the implementation of small to large projects; preparation of business case, cost/benefit analysis, and project management in accordance with Pengrowth's Project Methodology
Develop a lead role in shaping, defining and designing IS solutions with business and managing the project portfolio within scope
Perform business analysis, process analysis, and business requirements gathering
Lead the facilitation of business engagement and buy-in to defined solutions
Engage business and service delivery partners as the single point of contact for IS related functions
Ensure commitments are delivered on time and on budget meeting expected quality levels
Ensure existing IS systems and the technical components of the assigned applications are effectively supported, accessible, stable and support business growth. Track, escalate and/or resolve business systems issues
Create and maintain system documentation; develop test plans, conduct integration and user acceptance testing; understand the internal architecture and at a high level, how and why they are used by the business clients
Assist with data ETL processes, report generation and integration with other systems
Act as a liaison between business clients and technical solution providers (internal and external) to troubleshoot support incidents, deliver solutions and training
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in an Information Systems or Engineering related field
6 - 10 years in an application/data support role for field data capture and/or Scada systems;
Solid business analysis and project management experience
Excellent presentation, facilitation, problem solving and analytical skills with an eye for detail
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to clearly communicate thoughts on complex issues;
Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks among many competing requests
Experience working with any/all of the following would be considered an asset: Spring, Hibernate, Avocet Capture; Scada systems; SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle databases; reporting and analysis tools
