The successful candidate will be dedicated team-oriented individual with an excellent understanding of investment management industry and the related technology. The main objective is to determine optimal solutions that are aligned with the business/systems architecture while providing industry best practices and regulatory mandates to the solution. RESPONSIBILITIES: Interface with Project Manager and other BSAs, as well as with other technical teams, to identify, document and manage the business requirements for various projects, that could be cross functional and technically complex Establishes/maintains partnership with required lines of business in order to determine optimal solutions and alternatives for various business and systems needs to ensure clients make informed decisions Identifies, analyzes and communicates business needs regarding new initiatives as it pertains to supported applications Support the implementation of reengineered and integrated business processes to meet the needs of internal clients by working in partnership with internal and external IT service providers Validate that the business requirements are complete, correct, consistent, concise, and achievable Development of test strategies, test plans, test cases and expected results in consultation with clients to ensure that initiatives being implemented meet expected objectives Maintain documentation of current business and IT flows related to the portfolio management/back-office systems Ensure that newly implemented system enhancements meet business needs as documented in business specifications Provides support to the Project Manager in developing and maintaining project timelines and project status Maintain focus as priorities change, keeping business needs and importance in perspective as it relates to overall strategic goals Provide expertise to application support/system analysts in case of complex issues with existing processes and applications QUALIFICATION: Education/Training: University graduate in Business Administration, Computer Science or equivalent IFIC/CSC certification is an asset Experience: 7+ years experience as business analysis or business consultant within the Investment Management industry, or an equivalent of education and work experience Working Knowledge of: Extensive experience in business analysis for portfolio management/back-office systems within the Investment Management industry (Odyssey Triple9A knowledge would be ideal) Proven track record working complex projects and building IT solutions for portfolio management/back-office functions Programming skills & SQL scripting/querying is an asset Familiarity with database management systems and multi-platform environment (NT, UNIX) is an asset Possess an understanding/experience of System/Software Development Life Cycle methodology SKILLS: Excellent communication and listening skills to understand business needs and translate those needs into workable solutions Strong logic and analytical skills to clearly identify key issues Solid conceptual and problem-solving skills to ascertain issues and provide recommendations  Ability to lead project meetings with business users to gather requirements for assigned projects Effective time-management and ability to manage tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities Strong leadership skills and the ability to work within a fast paced team oriented environment If you are a passionate, committed and dynamic individual, please submit your cover letter and resume to .  Please also indicate in your cover letter where you have viewed this posting.  Thank you. - Email this job >> Job advice --> Job advice Business analyst profession Business analysts: a bridge between IT and business The rise to power of business analysts Business analyst skills Stages of the business analysis process IIBA: International Institute of Business Analysis Training How to become a business analyst?
