Title: CA SOMS - Internal Consultant II - Implementation Analyst Location: California - Rancho Cordova
Under the direction of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the Strategic Offender Management System (SOMS) project will consolidate existing databases and records to provide a fully automated system and replace manual paper processes. This project will upgrade and standardize adult, juvenile, and parole data and population management practices enterprise-wide to further enhance staff, offender and public safety. The goal of the SOMS project is to replace CDCR's disparate legacy application systems and array of paper files with an integrated offender management system (OMS) and electronic records management system (ERMS).
As an Implementation Analyst: Develops and manages relationships with client's on-site SOMS liaisons so that liaisons serve as on-site project facilitators and advocates. Works with client's on-site liaisons to determine site readiness, to facilitate user acceptance, and to respond to liaison's calls for assistance. Provides level 2 response to trouble tickets. 1. Works with the Business Architect and CDCR business owners to establish client on-site liaisons and points of contact at each site 2. Defines responsibilities and required capabilities of CDCR on-site liaisons 3. Meets with on-site staff, assisting in assessing site readiness and user acceptance 4. Functions as a "super user" for SOMS components, providing assistance and support to on-site liaisons and users, including level 2 support of help desk calls 5. Assists in development of training materials and in supporting training 6. Assists in collecting organizational and user information, and in entering information into SOMS components 7. Supports pilot testing and implementation activities 8. Agrees to and meets delivery commitments under the direction of the Implementation Manager 9. Participates as an integral member of the implementation team 10. Suggests improvements of applicable technology/capability skills to technical team, implementation team, project manager and ADU group manager as appropriate 11. Supports communications for the SOMS project 12. Follows Quality Policy 13. Is aware of client requirements and works to achieve total client satisfaction. Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience. May hold entry-level or intermediate-level certification(s) in work field.
