The Business Unit Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a leading supplier for 1st line screening technology in Hospitals. MRI is one of the youngest and most innovative imaging technologies and is growing in applications but also in complexity of the systems and their acquisition techniques. For our younger population, it's the most suitable technology for soft tissue imaging due to its non-invasive character. Also, the imaging of neurologic and cardiovascular structures is of key importance for our MRI products.
The Business Line MR develops state of the art MRI systems, using revolutionary technology. The Hardware Department consists of seven groups. One of those groups is the "Technical Room group" which is responsible, amongst others, for the connectivity on system level.
The connectivity design of a MRI system must ensure that all defined connections are present and that all undesirable interferences are absent. Solving this problem is a multi-disciplinary process (electronics, mechanics and physics) whereby also aspects like manufacturability, serviceability, reliability and costs have to be taken into account.
Your Responsibilities: As aCabling Engineeryou will translate the system overview of required connections into the requirements for individual cabling and connectors. You will define logical combinations of cables into harnesses and you will define logistics sets.
Assisting other engineers with the detailed design, reviewing documents and the design is also one of your responsibilities and you will also design yourself. You will give input and support for the Work Break Down (WBD) structure of the project activities regarding connectivity. This WBD covers all activities that have to be performed in the projects including a first indication regarding throughput time and effort.
In the role of team member you will plan and track tour own tasks of the team members and you will contribute to an efficient and effective way-of-working in projects. In case of outsourcing of activities you are responsible for the correct technology choices and together with the assigned purchaser responsible for the correct supplier choice. It is the intention that you will grow into a team leader role.
Based on your system knowledge you will assist in drawing up of approbation reports on building block, subsystem and system level together with the Quality Assurance department. You will execute safety measurements on system level according international IEC standards. Safety aspects play an important role in this and that means that you will also give input to the Hazard Analysis of the system.
In this position you will report to the Technical Room Group Leader.
Your Profile: Your ability to understand different points of view of diverse stakeholders and you flexible attitude to work in a team will make you a good match for this role. Your "hands on" and problem solving skills enable you to understand the complexity of challenging technical problems and development of our MRI equipment. You are stress resistant and cost & quality conscious.
To be successful in this role, you have:
* A Bachelor or Master degree in Electronics.
* Some years of work experience or a strong affinity with the development of cables, wiring and connectors.
* Experience in connectivity of several components in a complex system and knowledge of EMC and EMI related to electronics design is a plus.
* You are fluent in English, both in speaking and in writing
* You are a team player, you have well developed communication skills and you are eager to learn
