This Director position is a high level, professional position responsible for overall management of the patient accounts receivable and reimbursement processes for the corporation. The CBO Director will be responsible for reimbursement rates, effective and efficient billing and collections functions, training and consultation for field staff and corporate managers, and the management of the Central Billing Office.

Job Description:
Oversees the operation of central billing services including, but not limited to: patient / client accounting, credit and collections, statistical reporting, communications, and data processing. Sets collection goals, provides guidance to the Corporate Officers on operating problems; resolves problems with third-party payors; monitors overall performance; analyzes problems and recommends changes in policies and procedures when appropriate. Overseeing the operations of the central billing services including, but not limited to: patient / client accounting, credit and collections, statistical reporting, communications, and data processing.
Evaluates and implements efficient billing and reimbursement systems and processes. Develops controls, policies and procedures to enhance consistent, efficient and cost effective operations.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of all reimbursement rates and methodologies. Responsible for the development and maintenance of appropriate billing codes and rates.
Provides consistent direction and leadership to staff. Provides training and implementation for geographically dispersed sites and for corporate staff.
Implements continuous improvement initiatives in reimbursement functions in all sites and programs.
Analyzes the knowledge base of staff as pertains to reimbursement functions, processes and rates. Develops training activities to enable them to perform compliant billing functions.
Advises staff of changes in reimbursement methodologies and prepares impact statement for management.
Maintains database on all federal, state and local regulations that impacts reimbursement.
Reviews and analyzes cost reports and makes recommendations on changes in business practices needed to ensure corporation maintains financial viability.

Assists with special projects as assigned.
Directs the activities of the staff to ensure successful overall company financial performance.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining and supervising Central Billing Office staff.

Experience: - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Seven years management experience
- Three years supervisory experience
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 and DSM IV coding, highly desirable
- Must have an understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and 3rd party billing standards, regulations, and processes.
- Must have the ability to work in multi-disciplinary fields such as Primary Care Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, Hospice, Developmental Disabilities, and grant management areas.
