Cisco Firewall Engineer
The Security Engineer is responsible for configuring Cisco Security devices to fulfill approved requests for connectivity and access. The Security Engineer will receive requests for changes to existing Cisco security devices and the addition of new Cisco security devices and is responsible for verifying the impact of the requested changes within the context of the existing security configuration and network, and implementing and testing those changes. This is a key role in the daily processing of Work Orders, Change Requests, and Incident Response for operational systems.
Duties Include: • Review access change/addition requests within the context of existing security and network configurations and policies • Plan and implement requested changes according to customer SLAs which require after hours installation. • Provide Level 1 - 2 support to existing customers. • Perform resolutions to security related Work Orders, Change Requests and Incidents • Provide 7x24 response to P-1 and P-2 level incidents Essential Skills and Experience (key competencies) • 5 years experience with IT security, networking and enterprise technologies • Extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing and troubleshooting with Cisco security devices • 2-3 years experience in a customer facing technical support role • Experience/Familiarity working in an ITIL-modeled IT environment and adherence to formal change control procedures and processes Education and Certifications: • Cisco CCNA certification (preferred)
