Job Description
The Clinical Modeling Engineer will fill a critical role in the joint Intermountain Healthcare/GE Healthcare effort to enhance the GE Centricity Enterprise product and deploy it throughout Intermountain Healthcare. The incumbent will be a member of the modeling team, which collaborates with engineering teams, systems engineers, and clinical analysts and develops models and terminology for the healthcare data that needs to be stored in the system. The Clinical Modeling Engineer will serve as an expert in the clinical models and terminology used in clinical information systems.
This position will work with confidential and proprietary information that requires a signed IT Employee Invention and Confidentiality Agreement upon hire.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a clinical or in medical informatics area OR four or more years of clinical or clinical information systems experience. Intermountain Healthcare verifies both degree attainment and educational institution accreditation following an offer of employment.
- One or more years of clinical or medical informatics experience
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail applications
- Understanding of relational database systems
- Ability to provide business hours phone and/or pager support
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in abstracting healthcare knowledge into computable models (UML, XML, HL7)
- Experience with healthcare modeling efforts and terminologies (HL7 v3, OpenEHR, SNOMED, LOINC)
- Experience with Object Oriented Design
- Experience with OWL/RDF
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies
- Technical writing experience
- Project management experience
