Job Location: Tysons Corner, VA
MSI is seeking an experienced COBOL Programmer to participate in the development and maintenance of mainframe computer applications and automated systems. Client is a reputable financial organization in the Tysons Corner area.
All candidates must be able to pass a credit check.
Requirements:
Required Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in COBOL, DB2, & CICS (Testing eperience preferred)
- 3 years of experience in System analysis, planning & designing involving the development of data processing systems
- Working knowledge of JCL
- Ability to apply thorough knowledge of an IBM 309X equivalent system
- Ability to apply sound judgment in analyzing and organizing problems or work processes for automated solutions
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Demonstrated experience in application/systems analysis, workflow or procedural analysis
Demonstrated strong understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC)
Demonstrated experience determining, developing, testing, and implementing system requirements and specifications
Demonstrated ability to lead, guide, and mentor others
Strong planning, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
Strong research, analytical, and problem solving skills
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise initiative, and good judgment
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skill in using PCs including word processing, database, spreadsheet, and graphics applications
