Description/ Required Experience:
Our client is seeking a IBM Cognos Business Intelligence (BI) v10.1 Report Developer to work on the implementation of a new Budget and Performance Management system. The new system will replace the current Oracle systems, which have been built incrementally over time. The system utilizes IBM Cognos BI 10.1, TM1 9.5.2, and FileNet 4.5.1, and will incorporate custom Java forms, portal, and authentication solutions. This position will provide expertise in authoring reports utilizing Cognos, and will be responsible for training and knowledge transfer to permanent staff who will continue to develop and maintain reports in the future.
Duties include: -Develop a number of reports of varying complexity using Cognos BI 10.1 -Train permanent staff on the development and support of the report and best practices using Cognos tools, particularly Report Studio, Query Studio, and Business Insight Advanced.
Proven experience using multidimensional models (cubes), data marts / data warehouses, and transactional databases as data sources in Cognos reports -Expertise using all tools used in the development of reports within Cognos 10, including Framework Manager, Business Insight Advanced, Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, and Metric Studio -Ability to follow detailed project plans accounting for all necessary activities and resources -Ability to work independently and perform job with minimal supervision -Ability to consult with business analyst, project manager, higher-level business professionals and other vendors/consultants to elicit their input and capture it in clear and concise project documentation.
Training and Experience Requirements -Bachelor?s degree with two years of experience in a clearly-defined technical architecture role; a minimum of five years of overall IT-related experience. Or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred: -Current, hands-on and in-depth expert-level experience with Cognos 8 (10 as well as other related IBM products -Hands-on experience with Cognos 10.1 (Business Insight Advanced, in particular) -Working knowledge or familiarity with IBM Cognos TM1 and/or IBM FileNet -Previous experience with Java-based or other external applications interacting with Cognos via the APIs Cognos BI Professionl Author or Developer certifications GROM Associates provides consulting services for Information Management Systems in a wide range of industries.
