Responsibilities:
Configuration Management Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity (configuration control, version control) of all work products developed and delivered under a particular TTO. The following represents some of the duties, responsibilities, and tasks that shall be typically performed by personnel assigned to this labor category include, but are not limited to: a. Develops, documents, executes and implements a configuration management and change control program; b. Responsible for controlling master baselined configuration items to include software and documentation, for example process documentation, policies and training manuals; c. Addresses change order processing for systems equipment. hardware, software. and documentation items from the conception phase through development until delivery; d. Establishes product baselines; vides ERB and/or CCB secretariat support and all duties associated with this task; f. Performs quality assurance of tools and processes perform database testing; g. Provides support in the development and customization CM tools. h. Assists in the management of and provide administrative support to the configuration management process and governing authorities; i. Ensures that configuration management policy, practices. and standards are fully enforced;
Additional duties forTechnicalCM Specialists (e.g., database engineer) will need to perform the following duties: a. Database monitoring and performance tuning; b. Performs customization of BM Rational products to support government requirements; c. Provides database design and development, integration, data maintenance, data migration, query and report generation. and/or enhancement support as tasked; d. Isolates and resolves database deficiencies and implements corrective modifications; e. Coordinates activities with government personnel to support program activities with database requirements; f. Assists in developing, evaluating, and selecting alternatives to meet customer requirements for CM solutions; g. Identifies interoperability issues and recommends resolution strategies; h. Performs data modeling, develops database architectures, optimizes database design, and manages data integrity. i. Support one or more relational database products (e.g., Sybase, Oracle, SQL server) and CM tools, e.g., ClearCase, ClearQuest, MultiSite, CM portion of Sybase PowerDesigner j. Perform object-oriented design and development using a programming language such as Java or C++.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must be a US citizen and be able to meet the full eligibility requirements for access to classified information in an intelligence community setting. This individual should possess three years of experience in configuration management (CM). Depending on the TTO, personnel assigned to this category may also be expected to have experience with the IBM Rational Suite of Configuration Management tools — ClearCase and ClearQuest. Some knowledge with one or more relational database products (e.g., Sybase, Oracle) is desirable. An Associate’s Degree or higher in a technical field is desired.
