RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Takes direction from Senior technical staff on work products that need to be created · Understands SAS tools and technologies well and demonstrates effective use of them in a customer setting · Provides solutions to problems assigned by the technical lead on the project · Works well with the team in the project to meet the project objectives · Communicates effectively with both the team members and customers both in the written and spoken form · Makes effective use of the time to deliver a quality work product as agreed with the technical lead on the project. · Performs good quality testing of the work product developed · Escalates technical issues with the team leader for solution · Provides status on tasks assigned in the project to the tech lead and the project manager · Ensure up-to-date knowledge in SAS and competitive solutions, through self-motivated approach to continuous learning. · Actively participates in SAS knowledge-sharing activities. · Documents programs and program flows. · Ensures that programming complies with available standards from SAS Institute (Canada) Inc. · Develops prototypes as required. · Undertakes design of modules as assigned by the technical lead. · Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills: Consultant Technical II (General) · Working knowledge of common hardware environments and operating systems supported by the SAS System; Basic SAS programming skills (Base SAS, Macros, Procedures); Good awareness of SAS products and solutions required, including competitive analysis. Knowledge of UNIX, and Windows environments preferred. · Basic understanding of connectivity issues and connectivity protocols, ability to use and configure SAS software on multiple operating systems. · Experience using relational database technology such as DB2 or Oracle. · Basic conceptual and architecture understanding of solutions offered by SAS Institute. · Working knowledge of GUI technologies based on Java and .Net (Microsoft). Designs and authors help screens, menus, indices to ensure ease-of-use and consistency. · Exposure to testing and validation techniques in software engineering. · Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. · Ability to work independently and with a team. · Ability to travel. · Bachelor's degree - preferably in Engineering or Computer Science or a Masters degree in Statistics · At least 2 years of work experience with BI tools and technologies of SAS or equivalent, experience within Fraud industry is preferred.
Skill Set: Data Integration (DI) · Working knowledge of data management tools. · Working knowledge of industry standard third party tools such as schedulers, data modeling, data quality tools and OS services. · Knowledge of DW/BI concepts, applications, and supporting data structures.
Skill Set: Business Intelligence (BI) · Working knowledge of data integration and reporting tools. · Working knowledge of industry standard third party tools such as schedulers, data modeling tools, and OS services. · Knowledge of DW/BI concepts, applications, and supporting data structures. · Ability to develop reports using thin/thick client interfaces. · Ability to deliver information to a portal for consumption by the user community.
