Department Description


As a Senior Principal Consultant in the SOA technology group, you are responsible for developing and maintaining expert level skills on Oracle SOA technology. This includes being an expert in Oracle SOA products (Oracle WebLogic, OSB, BPEL process manager and BAM) and having a broad understanding of solutions, industry best practices, and technology designs. You will play the role of an Oracle SOA architect/ lead in customer engagements and will be responsible for defining and implementing SOA architectures that include Oracle's SOA Suite products. You will lead the solution design and implementation aspects of projects, ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget. Participating as an architect or lead, in projects, you possess technical expertise, project management expertise and client management expertise. As a member of the Consulting organization, you are responsible for ensuring that a quality software solution is delivered in a timely manner, at budget, and to our client's satisfaction. This involves working closely with the project and program manager to understand the client expectations. You will also work closely with other Oracle groups, offshore development and third-party vendors to ensure high quality, on time delivery.

In addition to project delivery, a Sr. Principal Consultant is also called upon to help the consulting practice by assisting with the following: Mentoring, Seminars, Workshops, Proposals and for providing subject matter expertise to support sales.


Solid Oracle SOA experience in the following areas preferred:
- Experience with WebLogic server implementations
- Experience with complex operational deployments
- Experience with BPEL and / or OSB.
- Experience with workflow technologies desirable.
- Experience with XML technologies
- Development skills in J2EE.
- Experience in competing SOA technologies will be considered for exceptional candidates who have a strong career record and have the eagerness to learn and implement Oracle technology.

As a recognized authority and leading contributor within their practice, this senior-level consulting position provides consistent high quality and innovative solution leadership to a project team. Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget.

Detailed Description

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer's objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver functional and technical solutions on non-routine and very complex aspects of applications and technology installations. Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences customer leadership on key decisions. Supports the business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain expertise.

Job Requirements

8-10 years of experience relevant to this position including 4 years of consulting experience. Prior team leadership or management experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.

Participating as an architect or lead, in projects requires hands-on technical expertise, project management expertise and client management expertise.

Candidates should:

Strong technical foundation in Oracle SOA products
Solid hands-on experience required in the following areas:
* Unified Process & UML
* WebLogic server implementations
* Complex deployments topologies
* BPEL and / or OSB
* Workflow technologies (desirable)
* XML, XLST, XSD
* Development skills in J2EE

Oracle SOA Integration Consultants:

We are searching for Oracle Integration Consultants to join our SOA/Integration technology group.

The successful candidates will play the role of an Oracle SOA architect/ lead in customer engagements. They will:
· Assist clients in the implementation of Oracle Applications and related extensions, integrations and reports using native application technologies and Oracle Fusion Middleware products.
· Provide premier technology services across the Oracle Applications including Oracle eBusiness Suite, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards and Siebel.
· Serve as implementation specialist and technical leader involved with large and complex system integration implementations.
· Consultants will specialize in designing, building, and implementing solutions combining Oracle Fusion Middleware (SOA suite, E2.0, OBIEE) technologies along with Oracle's current Applications (EBS R12, SEBL, or PSFT).
· Focused on Oracle's major industries including Aerospace and Defense, High Tech Manufacturing, Financial Services, Media/Entertainment/Communications, and Life Sciences as well as other industry verticals.
Consultants will specialize in designing, building, and implementing solutions combining Oracle Fusion Middleware (SOA suite, E2.0, OBIEE) technologies along with Oracle's current Applications (EBS R12, SEBL, or PSFT). We are currently searching for strong BPM (Business Process Management) experience as well.
Candidates should:
· 8 years or more experience in software and IT with at least 2 years in Consulting
· Min 1 full lifecycle applications implementation - either EBS, PeopleSoft, Siebel or JD Edwards, and in-depth knowledge of one of the pillars - Financials, Supply chain Management, HR or CRM.
· Core knowledge and experience with J2EE, XML and Web-service standards
· 2+ or more years of experience with Oracle SOA suite - BPEL preferred
· 2+ or more years of experience with Oracle ADF preferred
· 2+ or more years of experience with Oracle OBIEE preferred
· Strong communication and consulting skills
