The client has a number of infrastructure technology initiatives coming up as a result of Existing technology approaching end of support (Network Core Switches). Existing contracts expiring soon (Server Contract) The technology landscape is changing. There is an opportunity to re-evaluate and seek confirmation as to technology roadmaps which better suit IT strategies and market trends. The Client is seeking an individual with the knowledge, experience, and support, to assist in creating the specifications for two upcoming RFP's, the Network Core Switches, and the Server Contract. This individual will also be part of the RFP evaluation team. Project Scope and Specific Project Objectives: Review and document business requirements (current and future). Analysis and documentation: Architecture Performance Availability Support tools and processes Skills / Training Financial (Operating and Capital) Co-existence to other technologies Corporate perspective (vendor track record, support, etc) Research, develop and document strategies/ solution to mitigate risks. Research, review, and document industry trends and alignment with IT Strategies and directions. Assess and document risks associated with technology migration. Develop criteria for evaluating functional requirements in the RFP. Deliverables: Server and Network Core Switches specification document as per the above objectives. Possibility of an extension is not known. Specialization and Skills: Content/Training/Design Technical Writer > 10 years Additional Requirements: Senior Technical Writer (> 10 years) Recent and current experience in writing and evaluation of Infrastructure RFP's (Network and Server) for Government organizations. (Mandatory) Strong knowledge and experience with Network and Server Infrastructure, Server technologies (Mandatory) Financial analysis skills for evaluating the financial aspect of the proposals, (the ability to create rating criteria to use to justify a selection financially). (Mandatory) Project Management skills an asset (Capable) Work Environment: Client is located in SE Calgary. Some remote work can be done via teleconference.
