Genuent has a great opportunity for an experienced Data Architect in Houston, Texas.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Seeking an experienced Data Architect to create and maintain appropriate data architecture, data modeling, and reporting capability for a multiyear large scale Enterprise Business Intelligence initiative.
The Data Architect designs and builds relational databases following industry best practice (Inmon or Kimball). This individual evaluates new data sources for adherence to the organization's quality standards and ease of integration.
The Data Architect also provides leadership and supervision on all data exchanges. The Data Architect will also be responsible for leading the Enterprise Metadata repository initiative and act as the data steward/data guardian for the Enterprise.
The Data Architect will also establish data standards and architecture standards for all Business Intelligence initiatives across the organization
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (List the top five to seven essential responsibilities in priority order):
40% - Create conceptual, logical and physical models for healthcare BI implementations
15% - Performance tune SQL using industry standard tuning products
10% - Act as data guardian and provide day to day leadership to Data Stewardship and Metadata management
10% - Perform data analysis for source system data
10% - Conduct requirements gathering and design sessions with customer
10% - Design and manage data models in data modeling product
5% - Maintain appropriate documentation on data models and ensure that versioning standards are adhered to
Requirements:
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training –
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with ERWIN, Oracle Designer or other comparable data modeling tools.
Business Experience –
Previous healthcare industry experience a plus
Specialized Knowledge/Skills –
8 years experience as data architect for multi-terabyte data warehouse projects (healthcare preferred)
8 years experience in data modeling either logical or dimensional modeling
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting and collaborating internally and with the customer. Ability to express complex technical information in a user-friendly language and style; present information effectively in one-on-one, and small group settings, including executive management
Hands on experience indexing, partitioning and data design performance considerations for industry standard DBMS (Oracle 10g and later preferred)
Understands the importance of maintaining the physical and technical security and privacy of protected health information (PHI)
